This is my second purchase I accidentally tossed my first reel at the dump (tough lesson learned). I’ve brought in some large fish with my reel and you can hike it to spots that are perfect. Once you fish with one of these little reels you tend to forget about your rod. You feel every moment of the fight with this little reel. I’m sure it would be f great for ice fishing as well.

As an avid EDC enthusiast, the Yoyito is simply irresistible. I find myself playing with it every time while watching TV, and its feel is absolutely comfortable. I store it in a new EDC pouch, along with rigs and spare hooks and sinkers – the size is just right. Today, I finally took some time to try out the new gear. Not being a lure expert, I used a running sinker rig with a small piece of chicken breast as bait. In less than half an hour, I landed a small bream, palm-sized but still exciting for me. Unfortunately, the weather took a turn with strong winds and thunderstorms. Here, the Yoyito showcased another advantage – it easily fits into my pocket, allowing me to quickly run back to the car, avoiding the hassle of dealing with a fishing rod. This was my first time with yoyo fishing, and I could feel that there's minimal effort needed when reeling in compared to using a fishing rod. I suspect the rod creates a leverage force, making the fish feel stronger. Of course, I plan to test this theory by attempting to catch larger fish over the weekend. I feel like I'm going to keep this set of Yoyito fishing gear in my car for a lifetime.

There are YouTube videos that show how to cast easily and effectively with this hand reel. When you hook up, even with pan fish, it's fun reeling in your prize as you feel the 1:1 fight. Very high quality. My daughter caught a crab off of the fishing pier in Atlantic City with a simple bottom sinker and hook setup (and chunk of small fish caught on the pier). You are not going to fill your freezer with this thing, but you can enjoy fishing with minimal gear. I keep one in my truck with a small Plano tackle case: hooks, sinkers, several spinning lures, several rubber worms (for largemouth bass), and some clips and swivels. You never know when you are going to pass a pond in the rural areas and say to yourself, "wonder if there are some bass in there?"

Not gonna lie, it's definitely not the cheapest, but, the quality of the reel, and the pouch, are definitely worth the price, I've got over 100+ rod and reels, like 20 different Cuban yoyos, a couple hobo handlines, pen fishing rods, ronco pocket fishermens, emmrods, every random fishing gadget you can think of, but this one, this one the second I seen it I wanted it. It fits in my pocket, it's the only fishing gadget that ACTUALLY fits in my pocket. Sure, others may, but this one is comfortable. It is literally the only gadget that I ALWAYS will have on me. So to me, it makes the price worth it. What's the point of a travel fishing gadget, if it can't travel.

The Yoyito is a cool little piece of fishing gear. I got it for my son who some how became obsessed with handline fishing. He’s 4yrs and is way to young for it, so I started using it. We go fishing about 3-4 times a month. It would be daily if my son had his way!The cast is pretty easy to learn. The retrieve on the other hand is hard than you think. Your definitely not going to be using spinner baits! It’s very well made and fits great in my hand (I have a medium to large hands). Spend the extra money and get the one with line and hooks included.I haven’t caught a fish with it yet, but it’s been fun trying. I’m sure I’ll be hook (insert Dad joke) when I land my first fish.Happy Fishing!
