The rope is thick and sturdy (it feels like climbing rope) and I really like how you can order the lengths you need. The carabiner has a sleeve in the end which holds the rope, so it won't slip out of position or catch on the bail. The paint on the carabiner should keep the steel from rusting. It's plenty strong enough for my hanging chair and quiet during use.

The carabiner hook is the limiting factor on this setup, and the listing gives a 1,000 pound rating on that. The rope itself as being 1 mm braided polyester has a typical rating of 1,640 pounds. Double this for theHeavy Duty Tree Swing Ropes loop. The photo is a closeup of the stitching tying the ends together. It extends the full length of the rubber guard. All this backs the claim of the Heavy Duty Tree Swing Ropes as being safe for the suggested uses. The swing ropes also look great.

We purchased these for some hammock swings to hang from our deck. These are extremely sturdy and easy to put together.
