I chose this Mink Oil leather care kit for use with my wife and I's leather Blundstone boots. Being a couple of years old with a lot of use over that time, I wanted to give the boots some additional conditioning and waterproofing as we proceed into the wet spring weather.This kit is composed of a medium-soft bristle brush, a foam applicator and a micro fibre hand towel alongside the tin of mink oil (which is itself a combination of mink oil and other conditioners). It contains everything you'd need for basic leather care and while I can't comment on value for price as there's no price listed at the moment, it's a great kit if you don't have a suite of leather/shoe care tools.As shown in my review photos, I was able to apply the oil to my boots with ease and it had an immediate effect on the leather. The colours were deeper, richer and much closer to what the boots looked like when they were new. The oil absorbed into the oil immediately and was easy to apply (no need to heat the oil or anything like you might with shoe/boot polish). The bristle brush works well to scrub off any light dirt or debris while the applicator and towel worked well to spread and work the oil into the leather.After reading on some forums, there's controversy surrounding the effect of mink oil on the "patina" finish of some Blundstone boots. My boots came with a "weathered" look from the factory and some oils, so I've read, can condition the leather in a way that obscures this finish, much to the chagrin of some owners. I found that while this oil did in fact darken the leather to the point of changing this finish, it was only temporary with my boots slowly returning to their factory finish over a couple of weeks. Either way, this isn't an issue for me but some buyers may wish to condition their boots without permanently changing the finish. This mink oil does a good job of soaking in and returning the boots to their normal, worn-in look.The waterproofing is fantastic as I found water beading off of my boots in the slushy spring weather. I'm very happy that they're conditioned and protected and will absolutely be using up the rest of this mink oil over the life of my boots. Great buy.
