It’s been a while since I did a lot of bread baking, mostly baguettes, bagels and pan shaped loaves. This set provides a nice set to get back into it with artesian shapes. Just the ticket for snowed in days. I used it with a Portuguese white bread recipe (not sourdough) and it worked nicely. I already had a lame and scraper. But if you don't, this is a good purchase if you are starting out. The tools supplied work just fine. I am not great at the discipline needed to make a sourdough starter. But I will keep trying. I am getting better at lame art.

I got this set to bake rectangular loaves instead of round boules of sourdough bread. It has everything you need so this would make a great gift for any new baker. I actually found I can use my 9 x 5 loaf pan as a banneton for the 2nd rise so not using these as much as I anticipated but this is a rattan banneton and quality tools in the set - Recommended!

I ordered this specifically for the banneton. I just needed one extra banneton and it included all the extra stuff. The bench scraper is OK, but mine is better. The lame OK, but again, mine is better. The scrub brush is nice and will be used, but the other stuff will get donated.

Ok, I am just starting out with making sourdough and figured I needed to up my game. I got this set thinking it would be a great starter set and boy was I right. I had to watch some videos to figure out how to use the units because it didn't come with any instructions. After watching a few videos I was able to figure it out.
