I've slowly been piecing together my rig and recently decided to get a cage. I did some research and decided this would be the best choice for me. I like that the NATO rail hung over the front a bit and didn't cover the hot shoe mount. I also liked the additional cable clamp for the HDMI port.I discovered that the handle I had previously purchased did not fit on the NATO rail. The rail is just slightly larger than the handle groove. So I had to install the handle's NATO rail on top of the SmallRig NATO rail. This isn't ideal and I wish I had a HawkLock handle. Also I was hoping to use the hot shoe mount for the DJI Mic 2 receiver with adapter (so that I wouldn't need to use a cable), but there isn't enough room to use a handle and the adapter. So while the NATO rail does allow for the hot shoe mount to be exposed, I don't see how you could use a handle and the mount at the same time.The cable clamp isn't that convenient if you plan to frequently assemble/dissemble the rig. I didn't have time to fiddle with it and ended up removing the clamp. I am not currently using it, but I will try to give it a second chance.

Qualité top comme dabe avec smallRig. Par contre attention! J’ai l’adaptateur Poco mofage avec le filtre ND intégré, et avec cette cage je ne peux pas enlever mon filtre, je suis obligé de tourner l’adaptateur pour pouvoir enlever le filtre c’est un peu chiant.

Ajusta perfectamente con la sony FX3, el accesorio superior no es compatible con la empuñadura de la camara y hay que quitarlo para usar la misma, ya que comparte roscas, el accesorio para sujetar el HDMI funciona a la perfección y permite el bloqueo del mismo y de la puerta

This product, like any other smallrig product, really did not disappoint. It's super well machined with no sharp edges, intuitive to use, and built incredibly sturdy. There isn't any other cage I would need for my camera - can definitely recommend this to others and would have paid for this with my own money without doubt!

I love smallrig as a brand and opt for them whenever I can when buying and was super excited for this cage for the fx3 and it did not disappoint in the looks department but luckily I tested it on the day and realised the hdmi clamps unevenly even after adjusting the positioning of the claws, it’s a massive damage risk to the cameras hdmi slot if you attempt to fully clamp the cable.This review is for people looking to buy it as it’s new and only has 5 reviews at the time of me writing this warning of a review, I have no experience with their older design but if I had to buy one I would try that until they sort out this issue that I can’t believe managed to go by quality control.I was hoping this would be the ultimate FX3 cage. Disappointed.If hdmi clamp isn’t important go for it, it’s actually a stunning cage.

Der Cage ist hervorragend verarbeitet und mit vielen praktischen und durchdachten Funktionen ausgestattet. Als Teil der HawkLock-Serie lohnt er sich vor allem, wenn man bereits andere Teile des Systems besitzt oder kaufen möchte, man kann aber auch weiterhin andere Montagemöglichkeiten nutzen. Toll am HawkLock System ist jedoch die einfache Positionieren über die eingearbeiteten Slots und die kurze Umbauzeit durch die magnetische Druckbefestigung.Man kann sehr einfach Griffe und weiteres Zubehör montieren, die Unterseite des Cages ist direkt Arca Swiss Kompatibel und somit für einige Stative geeignet und mit einer SmallRig Manfrotto Platte auch direkt mit einigen Videostativen und Gimbals.Insbesondere die mitgelieferte Kabelklemme möchte ich ansonsten auch nicht missen. Diese ist einfach zu installieren und stellt sicher, dass der Anschluss der Kamera nicht zu stark belastet und somit beschädigt wird. Für mich lässt der Kamerakäfig für die FX30 (aber auch passend für FX3) absolut keine Wünsche mehr offen. Gerade das HawkLock System ist aus meiner Sicht die beste auf dem Markt befindliche Befestigungsart und wird von den Cage nativ unterstützt.

Smallrig has 2 cages and when you search Amazon for FX30, the other one is the one that shows up in search. But I found a cable management piece (3 knobs below the HDMI holder bracket - not included with this kit) that only showed compatibility with this model and was able to find it by searching the model listed in that posting. I'm glad I chose this one. The quality is very nice and it's a gunmetal color which looks nice on the FX30 body vs black.The top handle is black because it's not part of this line. It was cheaper...
