Using with a 3 lb kayak anchor. Easy to use. You need to pull in line by hand then reel it back onto the spool. Not meant for anchors but serves the purpose well. 3 settings for reel handle is nice. Release, click and lock.

We don't use this for diving. We use it for tying our dinghy to trees and rocks when hiking. We have huge tides her in Alaska so we usually have at least 50 feet of rope to tie our dinghy to the shore. However, the rope always gets tangled. This dive reel is strong enough and very easy to reel in and let out without tangling. As it is 150 feel long we can also go ashore in places we could not with a shorter rope.

Have not used it in the water yet, but I purchased the reel for towing a scuba buoy while diving. Delivered super fast, seems to be a very nice product for the price. Bought this to replace a much more expensive and heavier reel. I already feel great about it being much lighter. I think mechanically it is very well thought out, and constructed! My old reel would allow the line to get tangeld in the reel. The case covering on this reel looks like it’ll prevent that from happening which is a great feature. The line lock looks solid, and in my opinion better than my other more expensive reel. I’m not a fan of the carabiner they include with it, do yourself a favor and buy a marine grade bolt snap. Overall super excited, and can’t wait to get it in the water.
