Picked one of these up after borrowing a Milwaukee 12v one off my neighbour to slice the cat, downpipe and bolts off my van after struggling to get an angle and bite, decided there and then I'll have the Ryobi one if they did one as I already have a fair few tools now, and really liked how easy it gets in awkward spaces as opposed to the big recip.Although slightly larger it gets in the same awkward spots but with extra power. So far with a £15 Sabrecut mixed blade set it's gone through various classic Vw sheet metal, bumpstops, stainless exhausts, rust, chassis leg ends like marzipan, and on a 5ah battery slaughtered its way through a good 100 cuts of 50x70mm timber in about an hour, and with the pruning blades my dad can hack away branches and that easy enough. Let it do the work for you and don't force it and it'll do more than you think. The trigger is progressive, not just all or nothing. It's easy to handle with both one and two hands, but obviously if you're using the 5ah or maybe 4 it'll get tiring if it's above your head height, but if you're hacking into big chunks then you don't want to be slaying it around above your head anyway.Build quality, grip, trigger and balance is really very good, the light is in a decent place and stays on for a bit after you've let off the power, the brushless clearly has some grunt to it and isn't very loud really considering what it is, and the blade changes are mega simple and quick, and it's easy to clean.I'd be interested to try the multi tool and hex adapter you can get for them, easy to change rasp file and wire brushes etc.

Just used this for 2 jobs, (1) to cut through an 8" trunk of a climbing plant and some of it's thicker branches and (2) to cut through multiple 2" x 3" rough sawn beams. In both cases the saw was absolutely brilliant and very accurate. The saw is well balanced and can be used with one hand if required. For thicker timber I probably will never use a hand saw again, preferring this saw instead. (D&T teacher for 34years).
