I purchased this on Prime Day as a loaner rod. I ordered the 5wt 8 1/2 ft model. The rod is very nicely constructed. The cork is better than expected for the money and the alignment dots are all perfect. The rod is a moderate-fast action that is suitable for beginning and more experienced anglers alike. I took this out to catch some stocker trout just to try it and I was really impressed. It's soft enough for more delicate presentations, accurate enough for sight fishing and it has just enough backbone to land a bigger fish or buck a little wind. If you're just wanting a good rod and you're not worried about showing off, then I see no reason why this couldn't be your primary rod. I think it's going to be my go-to when I'm fishing smaller rivers. This thing really is a little gem.

the picture leads you to believe that because you purchased a combo that you get 3 RIO tippets and 12 assorted flies. This may be an oversight, but honestly I would have bought it for this price stand alone. It would be nice to have the 3 extra tippets though. I generally don't have much luck with combo pack flies being of any notable quality anyway. That being said, The rod shipped very quickly. I ordered late Sunday night, and it was shipped and in transit via FedEx "EARLY" Monday morning. Like it was the next thing they did after they turned off the alarm when they opened shop for the day. To top it off, it got here (technically 2.5) days earlier than predicted and expected. Was packaged well and in mint condition. They had a nice note enclosed thanking me for my business, offering assistance with any questions I may have and even an easy way to return the item if I choose to. I know this is long winded, but these guys do deserve a hat tip, and I sincerely plan on ordering directly from their store as much as I can. I live 3 states away and it is easier than driving to my nearest Fly shop. The rod is great too btw. I used a buddies before I bought this one. Worth worth worth. If you are new to fly fishing like me, Redington, has a life time warranty on the Path rod, and a 1 year warranty on the reel. if you are new, You are going to want that rod warranty :) Hope my super long message helps you in your buying decision. Great outfit at a great price from a great company. Rod is very nice and cast very well. Reel is total acceptable although i do wish the spool was aluminum. The line is gine as well. For a ready to fish combo this is one heck of a deal.WARRANTY!!i broke my rod (completely my fault) brought it to the sage/redington manufacturer on bainbridge island and had a brand new rod in less than 5 minutes
