I got this Osprey Tempest backpack for my partner mostly as Osprey has long been considered a high quality brand. She needed a pack that would be good for rugged day trips, since we already have larger ones for our section and through hikes. The Tempest 26 is a stunning bag, both visually and practically. It has a nice rigid backing for support with adequate cushioning, as well as a breathable mesh that helps with those really hot hikes. The storage areas are abundant which is ideal for organizing your stuff for easy access. The main area features a flex pocket to store your hydration pack in, as well as an opening for the tube to go through. It also has a small zippered pocket inside, easy to access top storage from the outside, open flex pockets on the back and sides, and the usual pockets on both sides of the belt. The chest support strap even includes an emergency whistle that is built into the buckle. The zippers are nylon coil YKK brand which have proven very reliable for us on other packs. The material feels very sturdy, but the pack is still overall lightweight. She was thrilled with the addition of the helmet attachment which will be ideal for our bike-packing trips. Currently at $170, it is a little on the pricier side but this is a backpack with excellent functionality and great durability and so should last a long time. 5 stars.

First of all: it’s been a long time since I’ve had a hiking pack, and I’m not an expert on the design decisions Osprey made for this pack. But Osprey is a very reputable company, and this pack has many great features. This is a somewhat small hiking pack, not a day pack. It has a rigid frame in the back of it. There is a waist strap and a sternum strap in addition to the shoulder straps; all are easily adjustable. The back fabric is mesh, directly over the frame, with no padding; presumably to keep the wearer cooler when hiking. The sternum strap has a little plastic whistle built into the clip.It has two zippered pockets on the waist strap; there is no protective material over the zippers on those pockets. The pockets are reachable when the pack is on, which is a nice feature. There are three mesh open pockets on the exterior: one on each side, and one larger one on the front. There is one relatively small zippered exterior pocket; the zipper on that pocket does have protective material over it, as does the main compartment zipper.Inside, there are two pockets; one large open one on the inside back, and one zippered mesh one behind the relatively small exterior pocket. The inside zippered pocket has a plastic key clip inside it. There is also a zipper across the upper back; when opened, the frame is visible. I’m guessing that’s in case the frame needs replacing, but I’m not sure.I like that the zippers (except the one across the inside back, which has no pull on it) have lightweight pulls that are replaceable; instead of bits of metal that can break off.I’m guessing a lot of the design decisions were made to reduce the weight of the pack. I would prefer some padding over the frame, but that would add weight. I would also like a couple more zippered pockets inside, but those would also add weight. It’s difficult for me to decide if this pack is comfortable. I love that there are so many ways to adjust the pack. But I’m not particularly tall, and I find myself wishing that the waist strap was lower, so it would rest more on my hips. As I mentioned, I haven’t had a hiking pack in a long time; maybe this is where the waist strap is supposed to be.Overall, I’m impressed by the thought Osprey put into this pack; and I’m guessing it will last a long time.

This bag has a large carrying capacity and fits well. I find it very supportive with the additional waist and chest strap. The straps are definitely optimzed for a womens body type and has a comfortable padding. I take this bag with me on daily travel and I really like it for backpacking in general too. Fits my needs and is very sturdy to handle the outdoors.

This brand never stops to surprise me with how innovative they are not only are they really long lasting no matter what style you get over the years, but it’s always worth it to purchase new as a treat for yourself for the new extra features that just completely continue to keep streamlining, comfort, and storage and lightweight ability on the adventure you’re on. What I really love about Osprey is the fact that the bags are so durable that they are regift Abel if you wanna treat yourself to the newest line, you can always regift any other others that you’ve purchased because of the three I’ve had I’ve never experienced a rip. I’ve never experienced a lack of functionality or that they become more heavy and bend over time. This one in particular made me really excited about the way it hugs my hip as I just get a little older and my back needs the extra support. Also this color is so unique and pretty but can be unisex to carry too. I also stick with this brand for the small details like the width of the straps and the padding of the straps because it makes a huge difference whether you’re hiking for an hour or a whole day. I also find this to be a really good theme park bag for a whole day experience and it goes easily into lockers in this size.

I got this backpack to use while hiking and on trips. I love that it is tailored for women and definitely fits my body better than a unisex backpack making for a more comfortable and secure fit during dynamic movements. The backpack is comfortable to wear, the shoulder straps don’t rub or irritate, and the back panel offers a close stable fit while allowing air to circulate. The adjustable hip belt hits in the right area and is comfortable. The backpack is both lightweight and durable, and with a 26-liter capacity, provides sufficient space for day hikes and outdoor excursions. It is a top loader with various organization pockets. The pack includes features like a LidLock holder for bike helmets, trekking pole and ice axe attachment points, and a hydration reservoir sleeve, making it suitable for multi-sport adventures. The chest support strap even includes an emergency whistle that is built into the buckle. Great quality bag!
