Comes in a retail box with detector, headphones, 2 9v batteries and instructions and requires assembly.I have always wanted a metal detector and the cost of some of them was just too much to justify the occasional use to satisfy my inner magpie but having the opportunity to review this, i jumped at the chance.This is certainly not a "pro" device based on the price and is more of an entry level metal detector that works well enough and has a good clear display as well as changing tones to differentiate multiple types of metals as well as depth alterations and plenty of settings to select certain types only as well as a finer locator setting which works well.I have yet to find anything of value but detecting on a beach in October i was not likely to find much other than some rubbish and some fishing gear that i have found so far but at least it seems to correlate with the tones and number scale so it seems to be fairly accurate.This needs 2 9v pp9 batteries to operate and so far after a couple of uses for a few hours i still have power but i ended up purchasing some rechargeable 9v batteries as the included cells are just normal non rechargeables so they wont last too long and at least with the batteries i have now i can recharge them in the field with a power bank as they have usb ports built in.Some minor issues i have with the design.It would have been nice if this had a bluetooth connection for the headphones as the included headphones are not very good, they work well enough but i ended up using my own bluetooth adaptorand my far more comfortable and better quality headphones.The main control unit is not waterproof so this does restrict its use somewhat but a clear plastic bag wrapped around the control unit was a simple solution i used during one session when it started to rain while down at the beach.It would of been nice if this had a rechargeable battery to be honest as most people have powerbanks now days so recharging in the field is easy instead of changing batteries.And lastly its not ideal for use by a younger child as its probably a bit too heavy but for a teenager or adult its fine.The price at the time of ordering was £109.99 which seems a fair price compared to more expensive"pro" models.

My daughter has had a metal detector for a while but it's a bright pink one and not particularly great at finding things so I thought it was time for me to have one that I could use with her and with a bit more accuracy and doesn't make me look like a Barbie fan.After unboxing you will need to assemble the device but this is straightforward and doesn't take long. I'm also glad to see batteries are included as you often don't see this these days and whilst it's a small thing, if they're needed they should be included to get you going straight away.The quality of the detector is really quite good and feels quite sturdy during use. It has an adjustable arm rest which is essential to get right if you're going to use this for any length of time. If you're like me you'll get hooked straight away even though most of my haul was just rubbish but then you're getting a little thrill and feeling of hope every time you detect something.There are loads of settings which take time to get used to and the detector will pick up various types of metals and at quite a depth. We had a test run in the back garden before using it in some fields near where we live and then on the beach and being waterproof means you don't have to worry about being near the water. You can use the included headphones to listen for beeps too. To date we haven't found anything of real value but I'm still hoping for that find that will bring forward my retirement. Loads of fun and highly recommended.
