Tire has extreme wobble once mounted due to manufacturing default. Unable to return due to the fact it is mounted on the bike, which is the only way to find out if the product works. Maxxis is supposed to be providing high quality products to mountain bikers and the fact this product left the factory in this condition is ridiculous. Will be riding different brand.

I have not tried the Dissector yet, but I have a 2.4 half-worn DHRII on the back and am grooming this 2.5 High-Roller II as the replacement. I was attracted to this tread pattern because it's heavily ramped and has decent trail-spec side knobs for cornering.Pros: Best climbing tire I've ever had. So many times already when climbing with this tire, I thought for sure the back tire would spin out, the drivetrain would bog down, the front tire would wander off the trail, etc. And almost every time, I just kept pedaling through tough technical spots uphill and this tire consistently diesel trucks its way up, it's just unbelievable. No other tire, not even the DHRII can climb tough sections this well. Cornering --- Wow. Very good cornering, as good or better than the DHRII. Probably because the side knobs are pointed up and are closer to the center tread, so they hook up faster and you don't have to lean the bike much to get them to work for you. Rolling speed vs. weight: this 2.5 is 966 grams. I do pay attention to tire weight, and may get the 2.4 version next due to this not so light weight. But it does roll fairly well. A bit faster (maybe) than the 900 gram DHRII 2.4 (27.5's).Cons: The only complaint I have besides the 966 gram weight (which is really not bad for a 27.5x2.5 tire) is that once the downhill gets rough, this tire on the rear is over its head. It can climb the same loose/eroded trails so well but downhill it just can't do it the same. Maybe mounted backwards it could but then you'd lose the climbing ability. A little bit loose and it's fine, hardpack fine. If the switchbacks are in good shape, this tire will eat those up all day long. But if they are eroded, the DHRII or Assegai clearly have the advantage in those poor conditions because of the size of their center knobs. Those can handle eroded chunk, pebbles, loose gravel, etc. The High-Roller II is setup for normal, relatively clean trails. Not necessarily flow trails (the Rekon or equivalent is fine for those). This can handle solid chunk, solid loose rocks or embedded ones, that's OK. But if the conditions are either tire grip or tire slide, this will slide. 90% of the time this tire will excel on trail/enduro and some DH segments. It will not when the trail conditions are bad; you'll need a beefier DH tire for those.UPDATE: After around 300 miles, this tire developed a severe wobble. It had nothing to do with the bead not being in the rim channels properly. The side casing somehow developed a side to side snake wobble so bad that it was rubbing against a frame that can take 2.8 rear tires. This tire is done. The odd thing is that there is no bubble or bulge on the side. It's like the threads bent out somehow, but you can't see that through the rubber covering, you just see it when the tire spins. I've decided to not buy mtb tires on here from now on, and just go directly to the manufacturer's website. I've had at least one other tire on here with unexplainable issues and I'm guessing it's because a lot of the tires on here are unused but several years old.

I’ve been running Maxxis tires for years, but after only a few months and a handful of rides on these new tires, I’ve got a puncture right at the seam. It looks as though something came defective on the tire. Unfortunate and definitely not the quality I expected at this price point. I think I’ll be going back to Schalwbe or Bontrager for my next set.

Tire came exactly when they said it would, same exact tire I ordered, everything was great as far as service is concerned. The only thing wrong was when I went to mount it the tire is sitting off a little. I assured the bead was even all the way around. I deflated and re-pumped up the tire several times to try and fix the problem but it still rides ab-longed. It could be the way I mounted it, but I have performed this service several times before the same way without incident. Not sure if it was the material from Maxxis or not , hard to tell. Again, great service though. I would purchase products again, just maybe not a tire.
