I have been carrying my ID, and a couple of essential cards in this card holder. It looks and feels robust, but the quality of leather could not be properly assessed. When a high quality (full-grain) leather is used, the underside of the leather is usually exposed, which serves as a tool to check by customers. Even the inner sleeves are made of bonding (cementing/gluing) two thin leather sheets together, so that the underside of the grain is no where to be seen. This makes it look professional, but over time, the sheets tend to separate, making it look cheaper and messy. Another drawback is that the plastic sheet used to display the ID is of very cheap quality. I have seen better plastic or mesh in cheaper ID holders; this could be improved. Nevertheless, it smells exactly like one of my leather briefcases purchased in Florence, Italy; which might speak of its quality.Verdict: For this price, I would expect to see the inside of the grain and not prefer to have too much of bonded (cemented) leather.

I bought this oyster card holder for my bus pass i decided to have it personalised with my name embossed in copper on the full grain tan leather if you decide to have it personalised you get the first six letters in the price of the personalised oyster card holder any extra letters you will have to pay a pound extra for each letter. It is not the cheapest oyster card holder but you are paying for quality. Maxwell - Scott also give you a 25 year warranty against any manufacturing faults highly recommended and will use this seller again when i need a new wallet. Excellent Customer Service.

I was in the market for a Leather Oyster card holder, however on reading the reviews on virtually each and everyone I soon came to the conclusion that a vast number of card holders were of pretty piss poor quality. So I decided on one which wasn't cheap and within an hour the mesh which held my card was ripped. Talk about guttered. Having learnt my lesson the hard way, I fell upon my second option which at the time was far too expensive. It arrived today, and boy did I make a huge mistake in not purchasing this first. It simply is in another class of quality. and there is no doubt that this one will last. (Well for a start they haven't bothered with mesh)It arrived in a gold plastic jiffy bag recorded delivery. On opening the bag, the holder was expertly wrapped in Maxwell Scott headed wrapping paper (So if you are buying this as a present, they save you all the work) On opening that you find a stout black cardboard box, where inside wrapped again in wrapping paper is the most luxurious leather card holder you will find. It really does extrude quality.(The pictures on Amazon just do not do it justice) Me, I am happy as Larry. My third Maxwell Scott purchase and I am pretty sure it won't be my last.
