You’d be forgiven for thinking that the near £100 price tag for this cordless rotary tool from Hoto is a bit heafty and over the top. However, after getting your hands on it and putting it to use, those thoughts quickly fade into the distance.The Hoto tool comes with 37 accessories to get you started and offers attachments for cutting, sharpening, grinding and polishing. There are also plenty of other compatible accessories that you can purchase to expand on its functionality. You also get a dust cover to shield you from any debris during working and a charge cable (no plug) to top up the internal rechargeable battery.For me, this tool is perfect, as first of all it is cordless and I much prefer this format to the alternative corded option. Secondly, this rotary tool has a very powerful motor for its compact size and the best thing of all it is brushless, so you know that you are getting a very good quality setup and one that will provide you with reliability and lots of long-term use.I have used this tool on all manner of different materials including plastic, metal and wood and each time it has made very light work of executing the task that I have demanded of it. I have been very impressed with the overall performance and the long battery life makes it a winning combination.In use, the tool is lightweight at a very slimline 0.93 pounds and very easy to hold in the hand for close up and intricate/detailed work. There is a variable speed control that offers up to 35,000RPM for speedy tasks or you can lower the power for more delicate jobs and to maintain better overall control.I like that changing over attachments is very straightforward and quick and there is an inbuilt LED light for extra focus on the area that you are working on.I have been mightily impressed by this rotary tool’s capabilities, it makes all of your small detailed tasks so easy to complete and if I wasn’t convinced if this was good value for money at the start, after a few uses, I can say categorically that I would not be without it.I would recommend this tool unreservedly, it is perfect for anyone that does close up and precise work and the performance and results speak for themselves.If you are looking for a new or replacement rotary tool, look no further than this one, it is absolutely fantastic in every way.

Un produit qui respire la qualité, les matériaux et le style est top. Très simple à utiliser il suffit de maintenir le bouton situé au niveau de la tête pour pouvoir dévisser/visser un embout. (Pas besoin d'outils, sauf pour fixer fortement, mais je n'en ai pas eu l'usage, en tout cas il y a une clé fournie avec).J'ai apprécié :+ Qualité de fabrication au top+ La prise en main+ La boite plastique avec compartiments bien pratique (même si j'aurai préféré que les couvercles soient transparents)+ Simplicité d'utilisation (on/off, curseur vitesse)+ Sans fil+ Led de travail+ Batterie démontable facilement+ Variété des outils (même si j'aurai aimé un peu plus de pointes de perçage)Les moins :- L'ensemble est quand même un peu large, ça n'ira pas à toutes les mains- La led de travail n'est pas particulièrement puissante- La grille qui est très basse et risque de s'encrasser avec les poussières (à voir dans le temps)- Le fil de charge qui est court et pas de chargeur fourniLa prise en main est quasi immédiate, on installe un outil, on allume avec le bouton on/off et on ajuste la puissance avec le curseur et c'est tout. Rien de sorcier ça fait le boulot. N'en attendez pas une puissance phénoménale, c'est un outil plutôt pour le DIY et la déco, mais ce n'est pas un jouet ou un produit bas de gamme loin de là.En tout cas pas de mauvaises surprises à mon niveau, j'en suis satisfait.

HOTO have a very interesting design language and so far I'm pretty happy with their products. I think of them as kind of like the Apple of the power tools world... They make good tools, but also pay extra attention to the look and feel of the device... and usually charge you a premium for it. Although, in this case, I think they are actually on par with Dremel (the premium brand synonymous with rotary tool), maybe even a bit better overall.What I like:* Lightweight considering its power and battery - this is important for longer sessions and tricky to reach spaces.* Nice materials - despite the striped grippy bit looking like rubber and the grey area around it looking somewhat metallic, the housing is made of just plastic. However, the material does not feel cheap or thin, and the area around the tip, where you'd usually hold the device, has a nice fine texture that gives it some grip, but also reminds me of the nice soft-touch plastics. Also, I think keeping the housing lightweight by using plastics is the right choice. The only bit that feels a bit cheap for some reason is the lock button.* Removal battery - easy to replace once it eventually dies. Also, removable battery means you can get extra ones and swap them instead of wait for a recharge.* Fast charging - up to 28W with a USB-C Power Delivery charger, which is pretty good.* Powerful brushless motor - my more budget 12V rotary tool from Depstech can match the speed range of this HOTO, but the torque here is higher as far as I can tell.* Nice accessory kit and storage box for them.* Smooth speed control - most rotary tools have predefined steps, which I suspect they do to save on manufacturing costs, but I actually prefer the way HOTO have done it. If I feel like I need a bit extra speed, I can just get a bit extra, instead of a fairly big jump. This also lets me squeeze a bit more runtime from the battery.* The power button does not shut of the device with a quick press, you actually have to hold it for like half a second, which is good for preventing interruptions from accidental presses when you are adjusting your grip.A few minor things that could have been better:* At this price range, I think they should have included:* * A case... If not for the whole package, at least for the rotary tool itself.* * A keyless chuck would have been nice - makes it a lot quicker to swap between bits, but at least that is easy and cheap to source on your own.* I like the idea of "shadow-free" light around the tip, that's helpful, but they have made it surprisingly weak. It is better than not having it at all, but I think they should have made it at least twice as bright.* No markings on the slider for the different speeds, it just say "low" on one end and "high" on the other. Considering different attachments/bits recommend different speeds, and going too high can mess up the bit, it would have been more friendly to inexperienced users if they actually labelled a few speeds. You can make a reasonable guess where the slider needs to be to get X speed, but if you are a casual user, you might forget what the "low" and "high" speeds are, and then you need to find that out first before making your estimate.* Almost plastic-free packaging... They were so close, most of it is cardboard, but they've decided to wrap the rotary tool, accessories and their box, and the USB cable in plastic bags. Also, there is no charging brick included, which I personally prefer... I already have a drawer full of them.Overall, a pretty capable and well-designed tool with a decent set of accessories.
