I had never seen a cylindrical wooden handle wedge until I found this listing from Gosknor. The idea looked intriguing so I decided to give the wedges a try. I could only test the 10mm size on one of my small sledge hammers, but it worked great at tightening up the wobbly head. I am assuming that the 12 & 14 mm sizes would work equally well but there wasn’t enough room to try either on this particular tool.The wedges hammer in more easily than I expected, and maintaining a vertical alignment of the wedge as it’s driven in is not difficult.The wedges are easy to install and work quite well.

Used the small and medium to secure lose sledge hammer head - hammered in easily using a standard claw hammer. Now what to do with the other 28!

This is an assortment of 30 carbon steel round wedges. These are used for fixing wooden handles into axe heads, hammer heads or garden hoe heads. The wedges are in three sizes: 10mm, 12mm and 14mm. They each have a sharpened leading edge and a reinforced hammering surface for ease of mounting in wooden handles.Would recommend these to anyone.
