Seine einzige Funktion besteht darin, Schmutz, Sand oder Spritzwasser von der Frontlinse fernzuhalten. Das besonders klare Spezialglas mit hoher Transmission ist nur mit der Mehrschichtvergütung B+W MRC (BASIC Line) bzw. B+W MRC nano (MASTER Line) erhältlich. Die hydrophobe Vergütung mindert die Haftneigung von Schmutzpartikeln und Wassertropfen. Der Vorteil liegt in einer extrem leichten Reinigung und maximaler Reflexminderung. I like it. Was a bit apprehensive before ordering after reading other reviews complaining the eco packaging was possibly adding dust to the filter compared to the old way of plastic case and foam insert.Those reviews caused me to actually buy a competing brand nano filter (not much cheaper), only for me to return it due to a couple of issues, including for whatever reason it seemed to electrostatically attract dust, making the blower actually unable to blow dust away (was actually adding more dust, as the dust already stuck to the filter was immovable by air alone, so the blower was just blowing ambient dust to stick in greater numbers onto the filter)Glad to report this B+W filter came well packaged, and the eco cloth case (or whatever it was made of) didn’t seem to leave any perceptible dust, and the lens looked clean as it should. After fitting on the filter to the lens (canon RF 70-200mm f2.8), there was a couple of dust particles noted, likely landed from ambient air. But was able to remove with ease with the blower, and no strange static issues.

Passt super und lässt sich leicht auf das Objektiv aufschrauben und auch wieder ab. Absolut Glas klar und es ist wirklich keine Beeinträchtigung der Bildqualität feststellbar bei Nutzung des Filters. Ich habe ihn extra ohne irgendeine Filterwirkung bestellt und nur rein als Linsenschutz für meine sehr teuren Objektive der RF Serie.

Purchased for a Leica Q3, whose lens has a 49mm filter thread.Despite doing photography for donkeys years and video for decades, it is only recently that I have discovered the genuine joy of Circular Polarisers. Their ability to either cut or enhance reflections on surfaces such as windows, water and pretty much anything that reflects light, is really quite astonishing. By simply turning the filter slowly (it's designed to turn), you can often significantly change the both reflections and contrast in a scene with ease.This particular B+W filter is beautifully built and is supplied with a small very nicely constructed 'leather type' pouch for storage.Compared to a cheaper Hoya filter, this is considerably brighter in transparency, but it still removes reflections exceptionally well. Because of its density it doesn't impinge on exposure in lower light and the filter's thickness is nicely thin.It's downside and this is the same with all Circular Polarisers, is that you need to remove the camera's lens hood in order to adjust the filter and when once adjusted, replace the lens hood. This slows down the speed of picture taking, but for the kind of shots where you likely want to have the ability to control reflections, then this possibly is not an issue.I'm giving very serious thought as to using this as my default filter, rather than Leica's UV filter.

Viele Einsatzmöglichkeiten, ist ja bekannt.Qualität wie immer, bei B&W, sehr gut.Benutze die Produkte der Firma jetzt über40 Jahre und war immer zufrieden.Auf die Randversiegelung sollte man beim kauf dieses Filters nicht verzichten. Habeschon 2 ohne Versiegelung entsorgen müssen.

I have always used B+W filters for many years on my Canon full-frame DSLRs. Needed to replace my 8+ year old B+W CP since the outer ring would no longer rotate. Bought the thin style B+W 77 mm CP. Not surprisingly it worked as advertised for fall foliage colors and with all of my Canon lens focal lengths. There is no discernable vignette on my wide angle lens. Filter was packaged in a nice pouch which was, in turn, packaged in a sturdy B+W filter box. To foil counterfeiting, inside the B+W box is a unique QR code. Scan the QR code then enter the unique B+W provided alphanumeric code, the filter type, filter diameter and B+W instantly verifies authenticity.
