You can tell a good quality 3.5mm jack by the way it clicks firmly into place.The cable I bought this to replace, only connected my ipod shuffle on about 1 in 4 attempts, and had a soft 'click' when it was inserted into the socket. But this cable surpasses that. The jack is almost silky smooth going into the socket, you hardly feel a thing. And it only connects about 1 in 10 attempts (if that!). And when it does connect... it usually disconnects again after a few minutes without being touched.Don't get me wrong though...it does it job. It does connect the ipod shuffle and allow it charge.... but it's hit-and-miss if it'll do it when you plug it in, or if you'll spend half an hour trying.TLDR: don't waste those few pennies you would spend on this.

This wonderful item is sturdier and easier to use than the original.Most appreciated due to sight and arthritis problems. Amazing value too! Very many thanks.
