Lightweight, packable and great emergency use or to supplement sleep system when your sleeping bag proves not to be as warm as the rating suggests. Remember whilst emergency blankets prevent you losing 90% of body heat, if you wrap it around someone already hypothermic they may need extra heat sources, even if you just put some handwarmers in their armpits! Useful in a First-aid kit too, as prevention against Shock. I like these ones as they are repackable and suited to multiple uses, where the cheap silver ones rip in a slight breeze. These aren't as noisy as cheap ones either. If your going to use in emergencies, its useful the outside is Orange for visibility. Hopefully your casualty won't get run over by the ambulance!

I bought this blanket to make some outdoor pads for feral cats. I just used 2 pieces of fleece with a single layer of the foil in the middle. To test it, I placed 2 fleece pads on a table, one with the foil in the middle, and one without. I placed a hand on each piece for about 10 seconds, and then quickly ran a hand across each fleece. The pad with the foil was definitely, demonstrably warmer. While the warmth only lasted a few seconds, the foil is not meant to store the heat, just reflect it. I also tried wrapping each pad around my hands, and the foil one kept me toasty. I’m sure it will help to keep a cold kitty warm during cold winter nights.Since my use was for cats, I was pleased that there is barely any “crinkle” when the pad is manipulated or moved. It’s certainly not enough to disturb or scare anyone. I also tried to tear the foil, and was pleasantly surprised. It pulled, and stretched, much like very strong plastic wrap. It also nicely resisted me trying to poke a finger through it. It appears to be very durable, and I expect it to last a long time.I believe this product would be a great addition to any “safety kit” one might keep in a car, or take along when hiking or camping. Being so much stronger than the cheaper foils, it is definitely worth the added price. Buy this, and Stay Warm!

The good: SOL products deserve the reputation they have acquired for being bullet-proof! Considerably more durable than budget survival blankets, these are readily re-used and damages can be repaired with duct tape to prolong the useful life of the product. This blanket can be folded up and easily fits into the original packaging(ziploc bag) after being opened. It isn't complicated to fold up and doesn't require being perfectly folded up the same way the manufacturer had initially packaged it as. Lightweight, very, and also quite compact.The bad: This isn't even worth half a star; these are very expensive compared to super budget survival bags. You can get 10 for $10 of the budget, single-use bags. I prefer the quality that SOL Emergency Blanket provides but you should be aware of this, probably the only, disadvantage of this product compared to the inferior competing products.I use these blankets as a ground sheet, along with a Tyvek sheet beneath it, to place under my sleeping pad with very good results. I also carry another in my first aid kit for emergency use. Highly recommended! One for every first aid kit, BOB, etc!

La mejor manta de supervivencia que he utilizado. Grosor y tamaño ideal para llevar en la mochila. Poco peso (82gr.), poco ruidosa, va en su funda y además en un bonito color naranja por un lado y plata por el otro. Varias utilidades

Die Rettungsdecke ist aus einer festen Qualität und läßt sich sowohl beim Wandern als Rettungsdecke, sowie auch als Zeltunterlage mehrfach verwenden. Die Ware wurde sehr schnell geliefert.

Credo che questo sia uno di quegli articoli per cui sia difficile fare una vera e propria recensione sul prodotto in se, per un semplice motivo.... si spera di non doverlo mai usare!Questa coperta di emergenza è uno di quei prodotti salva-vita assolutamente necessari a quelle persone che fanno scouting o amano avventurarsi in posti non propriamente dotati di comodità. Credo possa trovare anche una buona collocazione in macchina visto il suo ingombro veramente contenuto.L'ho acquistata perché d'estate non disdegno qualche passeggiata nei boschi di montagna e in caso di necessità potrebbe davvero rendersi utile.Il prodotto appare subito di qualità: il sacchettino di plastica, non leggera, può essere infilato ovunque senza la preoccupazione che il contenuto si rovini; anche se robusto nella parte alta ci sono i classici due taglietti a destra e sinistra per poter aprire la confezione in un attimo, ciò da al tutto un senso di usa e getta, ma dubito che tendenzialmente chi acquisti questo prodotto lo faccia in funzione di un uso frequente.... Anche se indubbiamente la coperta una volta ripiegata potrà essere riutilizzata. Consiglio l'acquisto poichè appena in mano il prodotto appare serio, efficace e potenzialmente molto utile.
