COVVY 64GB Digital Voice RecorderThe voice recorder comes well packaged in a tough card box, inside the box, the device is held in a moulded plastic tray. Below this is a section with the charging cable, a set of instructions and some earphones.The voice recorder itself is quite impressive, the case is die-cast metal and there are five main control buttons down below a 30mm screen (diagonal measurement). One side of the case has the on/off switch, and the USB-C charging socket. The other side has the volume control and up/down control button and a delete button. On top is the earphone socket.I use a voice recorder all the time to quickly keep a record of thoughts and ideas as I have them, I find it so much more convenient and faster than jotting notes on paper. I have the recorder in my pocket ready at any time. Having misplaced my previous recorder, I just wanted an inexpensive one to replace it.The COVVY voice recorder is very compact yet all the controls you need are there in plain sight and easy to use, good sized buttons. It couldn’t be simpler, you turn it on and press RECORD then you press it again when you want to end recording. At this point, if you press RECORD again you can still append to the recording. To play back you press PLAY/PAUSE.The MENU button brings up a list of functions on the screen so you can delete recordings, set the date and time, change the recording settings etc.The earphones included with the recorder give good quality sound if you choose to use them. And the On/Off switch will actually turn it on and off so the battery doesn’t drain when it’s not in use.Recordings on the COVVY are very clear and can be quite loud, I found I could turn the volume down to less than half and it is still loud enough to hear clearly.The COVVY voice recorder can be connected to a computer using the included USB lead. With this setup, the recorder will appear as an external drive. You can select this to find and download the recordings, you can also upload music files to listen to if you wish.The onboard microphone is quite sensitive but there is no external microphone socket so you can’t, for instance, attach a lapel mic. One thing missing on a lot of these kinds of devices is an attachment point for a wrist strap but this one comes with an attachment point. So, it was easy to fit a wrist strap from the bag of straps I already had.The COVVY voice recorder fulfils all of the features that my previous recorders had and more. I especially like being able to append to recordings. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Das Metallgehäuse empfiehlt den Sprachrekorder für gehobene Ansprüche. Durch seine schmale, platzsparende Bauart ist er zudem mitnahmetauglich. Die Tonqualität ist für ein Diktiergerät absolut ok. Ein wenig getrübt wird der positive Gesamteindruck durch das sehr schmale Display. Schon duch die schmale Bauart steht ja wenig Platz zur Verfügung. Dass ein erheblicher Teil hiervon auch noch durch den breiten Rand um das Display verschwendet wird, ist bedauerlich.

Der "COVVY Sprachaktivierter Rekorder" kommt mit den mittlerweile üblichen 64 GB und ist in erster Linie als Diktiergerät gedacht. Als Abspielgerät für Musik ist das Smartphone dann doch besser geeignet.Wir hatten vor ein paar Monaten bereits ein ähnliches Gerät ausprobiert und das hatte auf ganzer Linie versagt. Hier waren wir zuerst etwas skeptisch, ist die Anzeige doch praktisch identisch.Die Befürchtungen haben sich aber als unbegründet erwiesen. Die Bedienungsanleitung ist zwar ausschließlich auf Englisch, aber dafür sehr ausführlich gehalten und es wird alles genau erklärt. Dass die Anleitung nicht auch auf Deutsch vorliegt, kostet einen Stern.Das Gerät ist sehr schlank und passt problemlos in die Hosentasche. Voreingestellt sind 512 kBps und das reicht für gute Aufnahmen nicht aus. Hier lässt sich aber ganz einfach auf die deutlich besseren 1536 kBps umstellen und das klingt wirklich vernünftig!Auch das Auswählen von Aufnahmen, das Starten, Pausieren und Stoppen funktioniert hier ganz einfach. All das hatte bei dem anderen Gerät nicht funktioniert.Der eingebaute Lautsprecher ist natürlich kein HiFi-Lautsprecher, ist aber ordentlich laut und scheppert nicht.Beigefügt sind ein USB C-Ladekabel sowie einfache und kabelgebundene Kopfhörer. Bei Bedarf kann auch ein kabelgebundenes Mikrofon für noch bessere Qualität angeschlossen werden, das aber nicht beiliegt.Meine Frau braucht für ihre Arbeit ein kompaktes Aufnahmegerät, um Besprechungen auf der Baustelle mitschneiden zu können, um nachher im Büro für die Protokolle nichts zu verpassen. Sie ist mehr als glücklich über diesen Rekorder und den ersten Einsatz hat er bereits erfolgreich absolviert.Für den Preis eine Kaufempfehlung.
