This wooden fret file is so good, it has edges at angles for 4 different fret beveling angles. Makes a quicker job of filing down fret edges on guitar necks. The file is good quality and long lasting. The kit includes a screwdriver for switching the edge angle, a quality sanding pad, masking tape for neck protection and cleaning brush.

The only .. ONLY thing wrong here is the File itself isnt plained very straight which is very important ..Luckily there are Files on Amazon that are for this job as well that are cut nice and straight.

You never really know what you're going to get with cheaper tools like this, but this one is really well thought out. The block itself is nicely made and labeled. They include quite a bit of stuff that makes it really nice to use like the bag to hold it in a little roll of tape as well as a small tool to adjust where you put the file

Based on the pictures I was very skeptical about the accuracy of the 4 different angles that are cut into the main wood body of this tool. After receiving the tool, and triple checking the accuracy of the angles, using multiple angle finding tools, I was able to confirm that 3 of the 4 angles were accurate well within acceptable tolerances. I was able to easily bring the 4th angle into the same level of accuracy by removing a few rogue splinters of wood, which I believe were caused during the installation of the threaded female studs. Honestly, I would rather have to remove many more rogue splinters than not have the threaded female studs. Those studs are a vital component of the tool. They allow users to move, and attach the file to each of the angles using a much better set of fasteners. I've seen similar tools that incorporate cheap wood screws, and simple holes drilled into the wood. While that saves money in manufacturing costs, it isn't great for long term usage, and/or accuracy of the angles, so I appreciate that this tool was made with the intention that it would last much longer than those inferior, wood screw versions. I also appreciate that the outer surface of the wood has been covered with a clear protective coating, which I'm assuming is a type of urethane/polyurethane. If I had to nitpick, I would have also liked to see that same protective coating in each of the 4 angled cuts, but I can also see how adding such a coating could have caused varying, unpredictable changes to each, or all, of the 4 different angles. It would be difficult to apply that coating consistently on a mass produced product like this, which is why I'm defining this observation as a "nitpick".Anyway, I'm very happy with this tool, and I suspect that it will continue to function properly much longer than cheaper versions.
