This arrives in a full colour printed box measuring approx 43.5cm x 26cm x 11.5cm.It would be easy to wrap and make a brilliant gift for anyone who wants to go metal detecting.To use this you will need to get 9v batteries and it does seem to chew through them, so I would recommend you get a set of rechargeable ones if you plan to use it often.It's a real shame this doesn't come with a rechargeable battery.It does come with 2 9v batteries to get you started.I'm a coin collector, so I tested this on both gold and silver coins, which it detected easily enough under a couple of inches of dirt, so if that is what you are hoping to find, it's certainly able to detect Britannias.Feels nicely made although the display is a bit rubbish as it's hard to see outside on a bright day so I had to keep holding my hand over it to see.Comes with a storage bag so you have somewhere to keep it between uses and makes it easy to put in the boot when you travel.Not too heavy, easy to put together and great fun for kids who have been going round the garden finding dropped nails/screws from when we last had builders in.

This metal detector arrives compactly packaged but expands into a large, full-featured device. The included storage bag is a nice touch, keeping everything organized. It’s highly sensitive and does a good job detecting metals, though distinguishing between different types takes some practice.It comes with a storage bag, which is useful for keeping everything together. I couldn't get it to do that too well.The biggest downside is the screen quality—it appears blurred, and the backlight didn’t seem to work. Removing the protective film made no difference. Once you get used to the icons, the poor readability becomes less of an issue, but it’s still not ideal.Key Features that I liked were:- It has an adjustable stem which is comfortable for different heights- It has a waterproof coil and it nearly always rains where I live- There are multiple detection modes with oinpoint & memory for targeted searching, although I still have to master that- It's very sensitive and it picks up a range of metals but takes practice to differentiateOverall, it works well but takes time and experimentation to get the hang of its settings and sensitivity.

This is a great but of kit. Simple to use and works a treat. I've been using mostly in my garden but will eventually see if any farmers mind me being on thier land. Its a good build quality however I'd try to avoid dropping it on hard floor as it has delicate components.

This is a great metal detector for anyone just starting out or as a replacement for a broken one like me.The detector materials are mostly good-quality plastic with the base metal detector within the plastic shield. You need to use 2 x Square batteries to operate it and to make sure you carry spares when you are out and about in case the current ones go flat.You also get a good holdall for carrying the detector and parts around when walking in the countryside or the back of your vehicle when traveling.For the price, it is still a good metal detector.

Looking at other reviews I question whether I have been unlucky. I have some copper pipes that are under my tiled kitchen floor and are easily detected by a children's metal detector. This one struggles to find them. I also placed a single coin on a carpet and the detector had to be so close that I would have found it by looking!I have been in touch with the supplier who asked me to send a video and to 'reset' the detector - but other than temporarily removing the batteries I do not know what they mean.I will update my review after I spend more time with it.
