There were no instructions but the concept was simple enough, stop water from going into the top of the suspension strut.The foam that comes with the plastic cap fits around the rim & allows for the cap to fit snuggly into the hole. The small hole in the top of the cap that other members have filled in, is I assume to stop condensation & is too small for a droplet if water to go through.
