Will not hold ink. Literally will just wipe off after it dries. Do not recommend for livestock

These ear tags are the appropriate size for smaller and medium-sized livestock. We typically prefer to ink-print their numbers in the ear or body, but I thought we'd try these out. I simply prefer more pain-free options. These are decent-quality plastics, and they work well, but the ink doesn't hold regardless of the type of marker used. That's sort of a big downfall because you have to rewrite the numbers too regularly.

I use the Allflex Tag Pen, this pen is excellent to hold ink for my other animal tag. But this tag doesn’t hold the ink. I had this tag in picture written about a week ago but still can be scratched off. Don’t waste money on this.

My daughter has a small herd of show goats and I hate that most of our tags are larger ones for sheep. Boer goats have thinner skinned hears than sheep and I am always worried they are going to rip out the larger sheep tags.I love the smaller lighter size of these tags and that she can write the info she needs on these for farm use and id. The back button is pretty large, but its light weight so it shouldn't be terrible. Fingers crossed they will be as good as I hope come January when we start kidding.

For what I needed, these were too small. But the material is good.
