Smoothest Zebco out there. I don’t think they will ever stop line hanging up when casting it though. Dew to catching a fish. No fault of Zebco they all do it…I have 2 bait casters 2 spinning reals and 2 Zebco spin cast… Omega pro and Bullet MG. What I still choose the bullet over all for now. Just wanted the feeling of the Zebco 33 I grew up with.. 40+ yrs ago. Them days are gone and done spending 200.00 or more to fish. The bullet and omega pro are close but 😔UPDATE STILL NUMBER ONE IN MY BOAT AKA BACK UP AND GO TO! Omega pro for slower a black max bc along with a the Sol J bc! Just no mo YT videos! Fishing equals 💰

I gave this item 1 star because it was defective. Casting was difficult and the reeling handle was squeaky. I had it returned for a refund. I expected more from this item considering the price. I was most disappointed.

I've used this to fish for probably 50 hours now and caught everything from small bait fish to game fish (all under 5 lbs) in freshwater lakes. I paired this reel with a Ugly Stik GX2 Casting Fishing Rod - 6'6", medium heavy power, moderate fast action rod.In my first takeout with this reel I was stunned at how smooth the cast was. It's absolutely silent when casting as the line glides out of the reel. When the line is loose, it still reels in smooth without tangles. The exception was only after many, many hours of fishing. Your line will bring in small amounts of muck and grime which builds up inside over time so it's important to take the reel off and apart and clean it well to extend the life of the reel (and of course change the line out). Installation on the Ugly Stick rod takes literally 20 seconds to take on and off.My only complaint is that the thumb grips are not going to last very long. They are a hard material but on the flat sides there are two pads glued on with adhesive that doesn't hold up over time. As soon as I noticed, I've covered them with SAMSFX Rubber Fishing Reel Handle Grip Sleeve Non-Slip Baitcaster Knob Covers for Casting or Spinning Reel. That should help this reel have a much longer life.
