These hoops are great for sitting in your Victorian drawing room by the fire embroidering samplers. I am a 68 year old guy without a drawing room but these are still great for any kind of needlework and they come in a useful range of sizes and also come with a tool for tightening them up which saves scrabbling in that kitchen drawer which contains all the weird stuff that doesn’t fit anywhere else. Made of bamboo I would guess, they look well made and should last well if not over tightened. Good value for money

The contents are a really nice kit. But I guess you get what you pay for and the quality seems low. The first hoop I tried snapped as I was tightening my fabric in place, the wood snapped.

Really can't fault these as display hoops; they are sturdy, functional with the screw and they look good - and it's a really great selection of sizes too. They are unfinished wood though and I noticed splintering around the edges (where you'd be gripping the hoops) which personally puts me off using them to do actual embroidery on. You don't get this issue with plastic hoops.
