I managed to break the wooden handle on our mattock when trying to uproot some brambles in the garden.We bought this replacement handle as the mattock head was in good condition, so it would have been a waste to replace the whole thing.This handle looks much more robust, and fitted easily to the existing mattock head - it was just a case of threading the head onto the handle, then giving the end of the handle a good couple of whacks onto the ground to seat the head. Now, I've exerted the same amount of force as before, and no sign of any weakness. It's like a whole new and improved mattock.

I bought this to replace my mattock handle that finally gave in after years of being driven into the ground lifting roots, slabs etc. This fibreglass handle seems strong although I've noticed cracks forming in the rubber handle !. The fibreglass core is still intact, I shall be keeping an eye on this potential issue and adjust my review accordingly.

Nice handle... rubberised grip may not last long... and needs gloves to prevent blisters... but other than that - all good

Held up so far, had for over a month and it’s being used to dig whole for jumps. It was being used for 2 weeks straight and no sign of weakness or cracking

I bought a b&q pick and the wooden handle broke on no time at all. I'd lost my receipt so couldn't return.I bought this as a replacement shaft and it works really well. The fit in the head is better than the original shaft.
