The rod feels pretty nice I’ve done a few practice cast in both 4 and 6 weightI don’t know about the value for money since I haven’t fished it but it fits in a small case (I’m keeping it in a draw in my bedroom) and I can’t see and issue with it except for the different pockets in the case can be sit together and get lost leading you to needing to take pieces out to re organise the caseI will edit once I have properly fished with this rod

Rigged and Ready has the best customer service. I purchased this last November for my husband and he accidentally broke the tip this summer on a fishing trip. I contacted riggedandready directly and they replaced the tip no hassle. I just had to pay shipping. Great company, and great product.

I bought this 2 in 1 rod because I tend to cycle when I go fishing and was annoyed at carrying my 4 piece in a longer case.So was a bit sceptical about whether this rod would perform well as it's in 6 - 8 pieces (depending on which of the 2 rods you set up) and also of it's quality. I was also concerned when I read it was a "fast medium" action rod that it might be too fast for me.It turns out that the rod is surprisingly good quality for the money. The cork is a good standard. On the 7 footer it's very smooth indeed. And the finishings are good quality such as the rosewood wooden seat section on the 7' rod is a nice touch. The case is excellent. It's small and inside it has sections to put the rod pieces.The rod casts wel. It just feels medium action to me. The 9 ft 6 wt casts decent with a 7 wt line, and also did well with a 6 wt. I tried an intermediate 7 wt line in strong wind on reservoir recently and was surprised to knock out almost the whole line with just just two false casts. The 7 foot rod is lovely with the 4 wt line I'm using. get plenty of bend into the butt with smaller fish, and also it casts very accurately at short distance for river fishing. You can actually add an extra section to the shorter rod set-up extending it to maybe 7.5' which I normally prefer. So take your pick!If I wanted any improvements? Perhaps the heavier casting rod to also have a wooden reel-seat section, and be more like 9.5 - 10 ft instead. Also one thing I would definitely suggest for improvement is the rod rings could do with being a bit wider for easier casting of the line. But this is nit-picking.I'd give htis rod 4/5 for its potential improvements but at the same time this is an amazing piece of kit for the money! I'm over the moon with it to be honest. It made portability a cinch, and also enables me easily to swap between different set ups for river or reservoir, smaller fish or bigger fish, and also to even try a lighter set up with bigger fish, for delicate presentation when needed - and also to experience a better fight !!!Highly recommend this rod if you are a beginner, need portability, want 2 rods for price of one and versatility !P.S. The company also have an aamzing warranty and will replaced broken rod tip no cost and repairs for up to 2 years!***UPDATE - I recently after a few months broke the rod tip. Not sure why it happened exactly BUT I am so pleased to contact the company and they were super friendly, no questions asked sent me a new rod tip in the post, which arrived on the day I was due to go fishing again! They even included a few free fishing floats, although I don't use them because I fly fish only. But anyway GREAT Customer Service! And I have updated this review to 5 stars now as I've had such a great experience, both with the rod AND the service provided. ***

Just what I wanted for travelling around in our motorhome. Very good quality and the best of both worlds to cover my fly fishing needs on my travels and compact enough to carry in my rucksack.

What I really like is how compact and versatile this is. And with 2 different weights, it's good for almost all freshwater fishing. You can take it with you to any camping or hiking that could have a river for fishing. Now for the other part, it's a stiff rod, that doesn't bend very well. Not the best quality rod but a very decent one.
