This scanner would be okay if it was able to deliver the specs it promises but it doesn't. For starters it appears that the 1200 dpi resolution is interpolated. Also in most cases I got errors when scanning at 1200 dpi. Even at lower dpi settings there were artifacts in the scan. The provided software is adequate but gives numerous errors and complains about a lack of memory when scanning high resolution. I tried using Vuescan as well but it did not fare much better.If you biggest priority is the A3 size and you don't care much about image quality then this scanner is a good deal. If you care at all about image quality it's not worth the trouble.I went ahead and bought an Epson Perfection V850 and the results are stunningly better. Granted it's media size is half but the quality of the scan is far better and worth the price.

Purchased this for scanning a large quantity of oversized newspapers and magazines for archival purposes. What would have generally taken several scans on a smaller scanner (plus the time to piece all the scans together), takes literally seconds using this scanner. This device pairs effortlessly with a Mac and scanning is a breeze. Can't attest to its results when attempting very high-res or photo-quality scans since for our purposes we were scanning for web images but for our purposes we have absolutely no complaints. Couldn't be happier -- especially for the price!
