Traeger 575 with wi/fi. Original temperature sensor has an exposed thermocouple end, covered only with ceramic coating. Position of thermocouple on the inside wall of the smoker is fully exposed, and makes it too easy to bump and break when moving food and the cooking grate around inside the smoker. Full metal covering on sensor tip is just common-sense engineering, and temp sensing appears accurate. Fairly easy to replace (take your time!), but videos on youtube tend to be for other smoker models. You will need to remove the controller's sheet-metal covering and probably end up tipping the unit up on its end for easier access to the wiring area of the controller. Take your time!
