I wasn't super optimistic about this product but if you're in my same boat, with a dog who won't tolerate nail trims, this product is waaaaaay better than the status quo. I thought it would take several days for him to learn to scratch but he learned it in less than 20 minutes. The middle two nails on both front paws are already significantly filed down and it's only been about 10 minutes total of scratching. Unless you somehow train your dog to only scratch right in the middle where the curve is deepest, it doesn't do much for the outer nails. But I do think that with enough use he'll randomly hit the outer nails enough to make a difference. The instructions that come with the product don't mention anything about the back nails, and I'm not sure how you would train that. I just want to keep the front nails filed down so he stops ripping my pants, though! So I'm ok with the back nails staying long. I got the version without the treat holder and I'm glad, it seems like the treat holder it would unnecessarily complicate the product and just make it easier to break. I just tuck the treats in my palm.

This is great, my dog is terrified of having her claws trimmed but I've trained her to use this and she's doing really well. Clipping her claws has always been extremely stressful so it's great to have an alternative. The shape of this is great as it does the side claws and not just the front two. And the handles are really useful to keep it steady.

Unser Hund lässt sie nicht die Krallen mit der Zange schneiden. Dieses Brett ist eine gute Lösung für die Vorderpfoten. Der Hund liebt die Benutzung und er musst sogar gebremst werden, sonst würde es zuviel sein. Das Sandpapier hat eine sehr gute Qualität. Wir benutzen immer noch die ursprüngliche Auflage. Die Wellenform finden wir praktisch.

What a brilliant idea and high quality product. It has been super easy to train my dog to “dig” the board and it’s provided an easy to use interim option to keep my dog’s nails filed while I reintroduce nail clippers after accidentally nicking a quick. The curved design helps to address the outside nails. Fortunately, my dog will allow me to trim his rear feet nails. Highly recommend this product. Sandpaper is nice and course and there are extra sheets provided.

My daughter and I ordered this board with a good dose of scepticism. We have not used a scratch board before and were getting desperate as our dog has developed a dislike of having his front paws held. We are pleasantly surprised. Our 7 year old staffy is engaged and we have been able to train him in just two days to use each front paw on command OK for the left and Yes for the right. The board is well constructed - it is not flimsy. I like the M shape as it is easy to handle when flat on the floor for both dog and owner. His nails are much shorter. product came with two spare sandpaper sheets. I would have liked to have the training instructions in the box. Highly recommend this product.
