This was installed on a bike with no suspension. Needless to say, adding any softening to the ride is appreciated. It was easy to install. It made a ride on a bumpy dirt road so much softer on my butt bones. It appears to be built well.

I've been using various suspension posts for around twenty years or more. I've always gravitated to the elastemer style posts like the brand with "thud" and "buster" in the name. Very high-quality products. The latest iteration is a short travel on a Salsa Warbird with plenty of comfort items. When I got this post, I was skeptical. I unscrewed the preload to nothing and moved the suspension through the range. There was a lot of "stiction." I wasn't impressed. However, I'm always giving Vine products the benefit of the doubt as I have been surprised in the past. I mounted an old comfy seat. (I didn't want to mess with my current setup and thought I was going back to it.) I hit the pivot points with T9 lube and installed the post. I took off on a ride, and the immediate impression was that I was low on air in the rear. I checked, but I wasn't flat, and continued. You are connected to a bike by your hands, your feet, and your butt. I started paying attention to the bumps in the road. I could feel the bumps in my hands and my feet, but not my butt. Color me super impressed. I did have to stop once to do a slight adjustment to soften it up just a tad, as while I was down in the drops and mashing hard on the pedals, the bobbing would cause me to top out. I softened it a full turn. I think I'm going to go back a half a turn, and I should be dialed.I see some cons to this, but not my particular case: You have to tighten your rails on both sides independently, and you are limited in the granularity of the seat angle. That might be an issue for some who are sensitive to seat angles. I'm not taking a star off for that, though. All in all, I give it two thumbs up and 100% enthusiastically recommend it. I'd be putting my saddle of choice on it and it is staying on the bike. The Thudbuster is going on a shelf.A note: this looks like a post that several different distributors are selling under different names. This one is great, and I'm sure the other ones are identical, but I'm not going to swear to it.

This looks and feels like a more popular version of this suspension post, and for the money it's worth it. It mounts the seat and to the bike like any other seats post, but does move you back about 2 inches so keep that in mind.

This post has a much shorter range than a shock, but it actually works really nicely to smooth out the bumps on a hardtail.

I picked up the KONG MING CAR Suspension Seat Post a few weeks ago after getting tired of the jarring bumps on my trip to the library. I didn’t want to drop a ton of money on a high-end suspension post, so this seemed like a good middle ground. Out of the box, it was easy to install—just swapped it with my old post and tightened it in. It fit my standard 27.2mm seat tube without issue. Took maybe 10 minutes total, and I was good to go.This is where I was most impressed. I immediately noticed a difference. What used to feel like a mini-jump every time I hit a bump is now more of a soft bounce. It definitely smooths out the rough patches, and I no longer feel like I’m getting rattled to death on gravel or uneven pavement. It’s lightweight but feels solid. The black aluminum finish looks clean and has held up well in light rain and everyday use. I did notice that the suspension isn’t adjustable, so if you’re really lightweight or heavier, it may not flex perfectly for you. I’m about 175 lbs, and it works great for me.If you’re looking for a solid upgrade from a rigid seat post without breaking the bank, this one delivers. It’s not high-end, but for what I need—commuting and casual weekend rides—it’s made a huge difference in comfort. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who rides on less-than-perfect roads.
