This balance beam is a fun toy that can be used for play but can also help kids develop in a few different ways. They can learn to improve their balance while trying to stand and walk across the beams. They will also get some benefits of developing their coordination and strength while moving around them. There are 6 different beams and they connect together using included pegs to create a hexagon. You can also choose to connect the beams in different ways to create unique shapes, and you do not have to connect all of them if you choose not to.There are 6 wooden stepping stones that get placed on your floor and can be used to create an obstacle course. These stepping stones can be used for playing popular games such as "The floor is lava". The stepping stones are numbered so the child can also learn their numbers and attempt to jump onto each one in a particular order. This item is best used with bare feet in order to feel the texture of the beams and the items that are included on each beam. Each of the beams has unique elements which give a different feeling when walking over them. The pieces included also have different colours which makes them visually appealing. This is the type of item you would expect to see in a Montessori school, though it can definitely be used at home. For safety reasons, it is meant for children 3 years old and higher. It is very easy to put together, and the children that use the item should be able to connect all of the pieces together as well. It can be put together in a matter of a few minutes. A nice thing about this particular product is that it can easily be taken apart when not in use and it includes a storage bag that you can use to keep all of the pieces together. It does not take up too much space and could be stored in a closet or large drawer.I appreciate the quality of the wooden pieces and the fact that you can configure it in a few different ways. I also like that this is an educational style toy that still provides fun and manages to keep the attention of the children that use it. It is important to note that you will likely want to use this on a carpeted area to ensure it does not move around or slide too much.

This is a really cool outdoor toy. I’ve never really seen a balance beam toy before, and this is my first time getting one for the kids. It comes with all the different boards, as well as the connecting pieces, and a storage bag. The bag is large enough to hold everything, but I think the box is more useful personally as you can stack something on top of it.I do think it’s pretty fun for the kids. I think they have a great time playing on it, both putting it together, walking on it, and putting it away (as long as you turn it into a game). The only major thing I think is that some of the beams are a little tough on their feet. Certain parts of the beam are quite rigid and rough, and they may decide that they just don’t want to walk on that part of the balance beam.If you’re wondering about how well it’s built, I think it’s built really well. It’s made of plywood, and I was able to stand on it without anything breaking or making any noise (cracking or anything, for reference I’m about 140 pounds). The box does say that it doesn’t recommend it for anyone over 70 pounds though, so take that as you will. They plywood is 11 ply, and is about 19.5mm thick. For reference, generally subfloor in Canada is 18mm thick.Overall though I think it’s a nice toy, if you’re willing to pay the $100 price tag. I think it is a little bit expensive, though I think that it’s built really well. For us, it’ll be an outdoor toy, and is a fun toy every so often for them.

I loved the concept a lot but I wish the design was reversible so my little ones can use the flat side too. They're not used to it right now and says the obstacles hurt and is a little reluctant and turning it over isn't an option because the placement of the obstacles at the corners prevent them from sitting flush on the pegs and wobbles a lot. In my opinion, this was poorly thought out.
